May 2 Georgia Mountain Rally

My first trip attending the Georgia Mountain Rally in Hiawassee GA.  Rode 843 miles in one day to get there from Iowa.  The first 100 miles or so was in the rain and dark.  Not fun.  It was worth it for the last 80 miles of the ride along the Ocoee River and a beautiful campground surrounded by a lake.  Dave had it all scoped out for us and had a great campsite staked out.

Click on any of the pictures to bring them up in a larger format.

Local Brewery and flights of beer

Local beer, catfish, hush puppies, and tater tots.  Wow

OK I think I have violated a few of these

So Saturday we had to endure a bit of rain.  You can see Dave's tent with the Pure Stodge flag in the background. Beer and boredom make for interesting activities so there ended up being an entertaining Kentucky Derby pool that was started while we sat out the rain (we didn't win) (the winner was disqualified)

After the rain we had a great meal with everyone cooking their own steaks.

Ian (in the kilt) was our ambassador from the sponsor club and also the cook for the chili supper.  In addition on the last night he kept us entertained with his "An Englishman, a Scotsman, and an Irishman walk into a bar" jokes.
